My Daily Natural Skin Care Routine

My Daily Natural Skin Care Routine

My daily natural skin care routine is sacred to me, my health and sanity!

Mama Bear's Naturals Healthy Skincare Bundle - All Natural, Non-toxic Skin care
As a working mom and stepmom to 5 kids, my daily natural skin care routine is ever evolving. I used to not even take the time. I looked at it as just one more thing to do, it seemed burdensome. Some of the issues I had was not just the time but the cost of skincare. If you wanted the "good stuff”, it cost a fortune. If you wanted middle of the road stuff, it was still pretty expensive, and who wanted the "heap stuff"?

As I am aging (It hurts to admit), I started to realize that I needed to do something with my skin. At the same time, I was looking into more natural and clean products for my family and our household. I was learning about toxic chemicals put into basically everything and what damage it does to your body. I did some digging into natural skincare and what works for the problems I’m trying to solve (ie fine lines, dark circles, moisturizing, etc). I dilly dallied with some things and created a nightly face cream that seemed to be working. However, life got in the way and keeping up with making my own products became tedious. Trying to find skincare that was clean was also hard, nevertheless something that was affordable. I fell back into the store bought skincare. Those products never seemed to last. I felt like I needed to use a lot of product to feel like my face was getting the care it needed. So, here I am using chemical laden products in larger quantities at a cost that not only affects my budget, but also my health.

Years later, life settled down and I started dabbling in making household products again. I decided to research homemade skincare again to refresh my brain as to what helps for what condition. As I made them and my family used them (and loved them actually), it sparked an idea of making products that were not only clean and good for our bodies, but affordable as well.

Now on with my actual daily natural skin care routine.

Morning Natural Skin Care Routine:

  1. Micellar Water and a cotton pad: I swiped the micellar on my face to cleanse any sweat or leftover products from the night before. It also just helps wake me up and I love how it feels on my skin.
  2. Under Eye Roller: I will roll a light layer under my eyes and pat the product in with my fingertips.
  3. Face Cream: I use an extremely tiny amount of face cream in the morning. Just enough to moisturize my face before applying makeup. Go light as if you use too much it will be too oily for makeup application. If you use too much, use a cotton pad to pat off any excess product.
  4. Apply clean makeup.

Night Natural Skin Care Routine:

  1. Shower: I tend to shower at night as I’m just too tired in the morning to do it and would rather sleep for an extra 10 minutes. I also prefer scrubbing my face in the shower versus over the sink.
  2. Foaming Face Wash: I foam it up in my hands and go to town scrubbing my face. You can use your hands or a washcloth, totally up to you. Then rinse off well.
  3. Micellar Water: I use this as an extra step to ensure I’ve gotten all of the makeup and yuck off efficiently. Plus it feels so nice when it goes on.
  4. Under Eye Roller: I go a bit heavier at night with the under eye roller as it has all night to absorb into the skin (though it doesn’t take all night)
  5. Face Cream: I also apply the face cream a bit heavier to my face and neck at this time for the same purpose of having a longer absorption time.

Seems pretty simple right? It literally takes me less than 5 minutes to do either natural skin care routine. If I can work it in, anyone can. It’s a must that we properly take care of our skin. It’s the largest organ in our bodies and needs that care. Skincare is a great self care act as well. YOU need that care too. You have others to care for and you can’t do that effectively without taking care of YOU.

YOU matter!
